Getting an Alexa rank for your website is not big deal. You will just have to Invite the Alexa bot to crawl your website. Then after a few days Alexa bot will come to your site and it will give you an Alexa rank. Most probably the rank will be in millions and it won’t be impressive. But then with time it will improve. Alexa ranks are given on an average of 3 months.

surf sieve alexa ranks As you can see this is a new site, and launched just a few days back. We are still trying to repair all the bugs and make this site compatible on all browsers. I just checked out our Alexa ranks, and it has started to improve already. I would be waiting for the next update of Alexa ranks very anxiously. Right now our Alexa rank is 1,406,956. this figure dose not impress at all, but that’s the way we start, right. Am posting this entry so that people know that we really started from scratch.

Why is top 100k is all that important. Yes it gives a nice feeling, makes us happy, etc. but then real thing is we all get the alexa traffic graph once we reach the top 100k. many webmasters spend all day, thinking how they get get ranks below this mark. Here are a few simple ways to boost your sites Alexa ranks. These are easy and free methods, which can help your rankings, a lot.

1) Install Alexa toolbar on your computer, you can also install the Mozila plugin for Alexa. The Mozila Firefox toolbar for Alexa is also available and is absolutely recommended.

2) Use the re-direct, http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.surfsieve.com just use your website in place of the surfsieve and see the difference in your rankings.

3) Give a link from your site to your Alexa traffic details page, in our case this is surf sieve traffic details. http://alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?url=www.surfsieve.com

4) Make an Alexa widget and put it on your website or blog, this will take your visitors to Alexa.

5) Make sure your visitors install Alexa toolbar, actively promote Alexa toolbar and ask your visitors to install the toolbar or Mozila search status plugin.

6) Submit your website to Alexa directories. There are a few Alexa directories, search for them, even on our website Surf Sieve we are planning to put up a directory, but that will take time. Anyways, these Alexa directories have a lot of visitors who use Alexa toolbar, so don’t skip this step.

Try to pay a few cyber café owners to install the Alexa toolbar and set your site as there homepage, also ask them to browse there site sometime when the systems are idle.
